Medway, MA - The Medway Fire Department responded after a resident discovered what appeared to be explosive devices in their attic. Upon investigation, crews located two training grenades along with a Japanese “Bouncing Betty” style device.

Out of an abundance of caution, the Massachusetts State Police Bomb Squad and the Department of Fire Services were requested to assist.

The scene was secured while specialists evaluated the items, which were ultimately determined to be inert and posed no active threat.

Fire officials ensured the area was safe before clearing the incident, highlighting the importance of reporting suspicious items immediately.
