This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

HOLLIS, NH — April 5th — During a second-alarm building fire on Miami Street, the Hollis NH Fire Department, located at 10 Glenice Drive, supplied station coverage. While Nashua units were working at the scene, Hollis Engine 2 was tasked with covering Nashua Fire Rescue Station 6. In order to maintain response capability for future calls in the region, station coverage is a typical procedure during working fires.

Due to operational requirements and fire circumstances, second-alarm fires usually call for additional personnel. In order to improve regional preparedness, mutual assistance departments help with coverage assignments as well as on the fireground. Throughout the assignment, Engine 2 was operational and accessible for calls. There were no other reported events. In order to sustain service levels during prolonged operations, the response emphasizes coordinated mutual aid activities.
