Mutual Aid Response Brings Maynard Crews to Acton

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

MAYNARD, MA — April 6th — As part of a mutual assistance assignment, the Maynard, Massachusetts Fire Department, located at 30 Sudbury Street, responded to an Acton commercial structure fire. Upon arrival, Maynard Ladder 1 was put into service and helped with interior crew support, ventilation, and ladder positioning. While building a water supply, first-due companies started an internal attack and reported smoke. Other groups were tasked with conducting searches and examining the structure for extensions.

In order to keep nearby areas prepared for responses, mutual assistance departments also offered station coverage. Because of the size of the building and the fire load, commercial incidents frequently call for additional resources. No significant injuries were recorded after the fire was put out.
