Westerly, RI - The Dunn’s Corners Fire Department was dispatched to Klondike Road for a reported brush fire. Crews arrived to find a fast-moving grass fire extending into nearby brush.

Quick action allowed firefighters to contain the fire before fully extinguishing it and thoroughly wetting down the area.

Residents are reminded that this time of year brings increased fire danger due to low humidity and wind, which can cause even small fires to spread rapidly and become uncontrollable.
