NORTH EAST, PA — March 17th — In the evening, the Fuller Hose Company responded to a reported structure fire on Freeport Lane in North East Township. When Chief 201 arrived, he saw smoke coming from the house. Soon after, Ladder 209 and Engine 202 arrived, and workers searched the garage attic and found the fire. Crews were able to advance lines and contain the situation after workers of the truck company opened the ceiling to access hidden fire.
Incident Command 211 was in charge of the first alarm companies from Fuller Hose, Crescent Hose, and Harborcreek. Opening hidden areas is frequently necessary to stop attic fires from spreading. The cause is still being looked into, and no injuries were recorded.
