HANSON, MA - Thursday, April 6th, marked the end of a long firefighting career for Hanson Fire Chief Jerome Thompson. Well-wishers stopped by the Hanson Fire Station during the day to give congratulations to Chief Thompson who was working his last shift. Chief Jerome Thompson worked for the Town of Hanson as a full-time firefighter for 30-years, the last 16-years as the Chief of Department. Hanson's Deputy Fire Chief Rob O'Brien is poised to take over as Fire Chief following Chief Thompson's actual retirement date, later this spring.
