Gettysburg, PA - The Gettysburg Fire Department responded to a trailer fire in the National Cemetery parking area involving a unit carrying spray foam insulation.
Crews quickly accessed the trailer, extinguished the fire, and conducted overhaul operations. Additional resources, including a second engine and Haz-Mat personnel, were requested after runoff entered a nearby storm drain. Containment measures were put in place to limit environmental impact.
The fire was determined to be caused by a mechanical issue with the trailer’s suspension, which led to heat buildup and ignition. Command was maintained throughout the incident.
