Car Bursts Into Flames After Hitting Pole in Newburgh

NEWBURGH, NY - Good Will FD responded to a vehicle that struck a pole and burst into flames, April 12th. Town of Newburgh EMS transported the driver to Montefiore-St. Luke's Hospital. Town of Newburgh Police blocked State Route 17K during the incident, as power lines were across the roadway. Firefighters extinguished the fire with hand lines, but the fire would start up until power was shut off. Central Hudson was called and responded for a power cut. Firefighters hit hot spots, and New York State Police assisted with traffic control. The Town of Newburgh Police Dept. is investigating the cause.
