Mountainside Crews Knock Down Vehicle Fire on Route 22

MOUNTAINSIDE, NJ - When a motor vehicle collision involving a rollover with fire was reported on March 14th, units from the Mountainside Fire Department responded to Summit Road and Route 22. Crews arrived to discover one fully involved car. Before arriving, the person had self-extricated. Squad 3 firefighters immediately put out the fire by deploying a front bumper line and starting suppression. After finishing overhaul, crews looked for potential dangers, such as fuel and battery involvement, which are frequent causes of car fires. There were no reported injuries.
