Chelmsford Firefighter Seriously Injured in Training Accident

Westport, MA - A Chelmsford firefighter, Nick Spinale, was seriously injured on Tuesday, April 7, during a training exercise at the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy in Stow.
Firefighter Spinale fell approximately 40 feet while unrestrained, landing on solid concrete. He sustained significant internal and external injuries and was transported by UMass Memorial Life Flight for emergency medical care.
He remains in the intensive care unit at UMass Memorial in Worcester, where he is being treated for life-threatening injuries.
Firefighter Spinale faces a long and challenging recovery, with multiple surgeries and extensive physical rehabilitation expected in the months ahead.
