Park Ridge Units Operate Three Hours at Brush Fire

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

On April 4, at around 4:30 p.m., the Park Ridge Fire Department was called to a reported brush fire in the forested area behind Sulak Field.

Crews discovered an active fire about 600 feet into the forest when they arrived. While Engine 1 and Truck 47 extended hose lines through the brush to create a steady supply of water, Engine 2 entered the area with water cans to halt the fire's development. In order to guarantee that every hotspot was put out, Rescue 47 helped with overhaul operations.

For over three hours, firefighters struggled to confine and put out the fire to stop it from spreading. Without any reported injuries, all units left the area and went back to their quarters.
