Multiple Companies Respond to Second-Alarm in Middle Hope

MIDDLE HOPE, NY - Middle Hope FD responded to a reported chimney fire around 3:00 PM on April 10th. Units arrived and requested a Second Alarm sounded for a working attic fire.


Cronomer Valley-Ladder, Good Will-Engine, Newburgh FAST, Marlboro-Engine, and Plattekill-Engine responded to the scene. Firefighters used hand lines and ground ladders as flames blew out of the residence on the south side. Middle Hope extended their ladder to the roof and started ventilating.


Central Hudson was called for a power cut. Deputy Orange County Fire Coordinator 36-12 and Town of Newburgh EMS were also at the scene. At the 30-minute status check, the fire was knocked down and overhaul began.


The fire is under investigation. Orange Lake, Winona Lake and Marlboro were on stand-by for Middle Hope and Good Will during the incident.
