Firefighters Quickly Contain House Fire in Blythedale

Elizabeth Borough, PA - Elizabeth Township Fire Department and mutual aid companies were dispatched to Roy Street in the Blythedale section of Elizabeth Township for a reported house fire. Elizabeth Township Police Department units arrived first and confirmed smoke coming from the residence. Rescue Engine 11 responded as the first arriving fire unit, followed closely by 140 Engine 7. Crews established a water supply and began fire suppression operations.


Command requested a second alarm to bring additional manpower to the scene. Firefighters contained the fire in a timely manner and completed overhaul and safety checks before clearing the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Allegheny County Fire Marshal.


Jefferson Hills Fire-Rescue provided township coverage during the incident and responded to an additional call while Elizabeth Township Fire Department units operated on scene.
