MASTIC, NY - At approximately 10:45 P.M. on Friday, March 29th, the Mastic Fire Department Chemical Company #1 was activated for a report of a vehicle fire possibly threatening a structure on Pineway Ave., between Claremont Dr. and Biltmore Dr. On arrival, Chiefs 5-12-30 and 5-12-31 found a well-involved auto in the driveway of a home. Engine 5-12-1 arrived on scene and the crew stretched a line and went to work on the fire. They were soon joined by a crew from Engine 5-12-3. Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire, and there was no extension to the structure. All firefighters were back in service in under 45 minutes. Suffolk Police 7th precinct was also on scene.
