Hackensack, NJ - Hackensack Fire Department’s Second Platoon, under Deputy Chief Michael Thomasey, responded to a kitchen fire in a third-floor apartment at 95 Anderson Street. A sprinkler head had already activated and kept the fire in check, allowing crews to stretch a 2.5-inch hoseline and quickly complete extinguishment and overhaul. The fire was contained to the apartment.

Pre-planning efforts led by Training Captain Michael Oates, along with the rapid Gamewell Box Alarm notification, helped crews secure the incident efficiently and allow residents back inside within 90 minutes. Mutual aid companies provided city coverage, and Hackensack Police assisted with traffic control. The fire is under investigation but not considered suspicious.
