Off-Duty Hero: Lieutenant Jumps Into Action Before Crews Arrive
Fall River, MA - On April 3 at approximately 6:00 p.m., multiple reports were received of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Plymouth Avenue and Buffinton Street.
An off-duty member, Lieutenant Evangelista, came upon the scene before emergency units arrived. Without hesitation, he stepped in to assist—helping control the patient’s bleeding and providing reassurance during a critical moment.
Shortly after, members of Engine 4 arrived on scene and took over patient care and incident operations.
Lieutenant Evangelista’s quick actions and commitment to service exemplify the dedication carried both on and off duty. His efforts made a meaningful difference in those crucial early moments.
