NEW LONDON, NH - A four-alarm fire destroyed a pair of condos at the Hilltop condominium community on April 1st. The fire came in around 11:30 P.M., and crews found the condos fully involved on arrival.
"This is sort of a retirement location, so anytime that you hear of a fire this time of evening, it's certainly concerning, especially with some of the individual's mobilty issues," said New London Fire Chief Jason Lyon.
Fire officials said both homes were fully involved upon arrival, and the fire was knocked down by 3:00 A.M. Sunday. Heavy winds and lack of fire hydrants added an extra challenge, and four alarms were transmitted, bringing help in from 11 communities.
Officials said both homes were unoccupied at the time, and there were no reported inuries.
