Mastic Firefighters handle Flooding call

Mastic N.Y- On Tuesday March 30th just before 5:30 PM the Mastic FD was called for a flooding condition on Southaven Ave near Babylon st. On arrival Chief Rudy Sunderman along with his members assessed the situation. There was a large flooding condition in both the living space and the area. Chief Sunderman also requested that decon be set up outside the home for members when they exit due to the conditions inside the home.
It was determined that no one was inside the home however there were serious hoarder conditions as well as other hazardous conditions in the home. The water authority as well as PSEG were requested to assist in securing the utilities. The Town Fire Marshal was also requested to the scene. All units were back in service within an hour and the scene was turned over to the Brookhaven Town Fire Marshals office.
