Second-Alarm on Prospect St. in Willimantic

WILLIMANTIC, CT - At 11:18 A.M. on Thursday, April 4th, the Willimantic Fire Department was dispatched to 384 Prospect Street for smoke coming from the second-floor. Engine 101 arrived at 11:21 A.M. with smoke showing from the second-floor 'Bravo' side of a large 2.5 story Victorian occupied multiple dwelling.


Engine 101 stretched a line to the second-floor and grabbed their own water supply, which was on the corner of Tingley Street. After an ambulance crew cleared a call, they responded with Truck 101 and set up on the 'Bravo' side. Engine 301 responded with callback personnel.


Mutual aid was received from Mansfield Squad 107, UConn Tower 122 FAST, Columbia Engine 105, North Windham Engine 102, South Windham Rescue 104 and Coventry Ambulance 518. Lebanon Ladder 106 and Scotland Ambulance 616 covered the City of Willimantic. Car 101 had command while 201 was operations. The incident escalated to a second-alarm and the Windham Fire Marshal's Office is investigating.
