CAROLINA, Rhode Island — March 29th — Responding to a reported brush fire along James Trail and Gardiner Road were firefighters from the Richmond-Carolina Fire District. A functioning brush fire was discovered by arriving units close to a horse paddock. In order to stop the fire from spreading to adjacent property, crews moved swiftly to control it. After that, firefighters carried out thorough mop-up operations to put out any last hot spots and guarantee that the fire was completely contained. There were no reported injuries.

Engine 612, Engine 613, Engine 617, Brush 614, Tanker 615, and Tanker 625 were among the responding equipment. The area is about to enter the spring brush fire season, when dry vegetation can raise the risk of a fire, according to officials. Before starting any open fires, residents are urged to check local fire officials and exercise caution when burning outside.
