ORADELL, NJ - On March 28th at approximately 12:30 P.M., Oradell transmitted a dispatch for a working fire at 895 Oradell Ave. Companies arrived to heavy smoke showing from a 1 ½ story frame dwelling. A second-alarm was sounded. Clutter in the basement was discovered to be burning. Companies vented the structure and the roof was laddered in case it needed to be vented as well. Progress appeared to be made when conditions deteriorated quickly. Flames vented out of the basement windows. All members were withdrawn and a third-alarm was called for. A second interior attack was commenced and the flames were quelled in less than two hours. No injuries were reported.
