WINDHAM, NH - On March 16th, the Derry Fire Department Communications Center received a 911 call for a reported vehicle fire on Interstate 93 northbound near mile marker 4.6. Windham firefighters responded. Windham C-1 arrived, established command and reported a fully involved passenger car in the breakdown lane. Salem Engine-1 arrived and started attacking the flames. Soon after, Windham Engine-2 and Truck-2 arrived and helped with suppression while providing more water. After the fire was put out, personnel performed overhaul operations until the car was hauled by a wrecker. There were no reported injuries.
