Mutual Aid Sends Tanker 61 to Old Quarry Road Structure Fire

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

North Scituate, RI — March 5th — A structure fire on Old Quarry Road prompted the Chopmist Hill Volunteer Fire Department's Tanker 61 to provide mutual help to Glocester. When the first responding companies arrived, they saw smoke coming from the roofline of a two-story wood-frame house that had an attic fire. Tanker 61's driver stayed with the equipment to help with a tanker shuttle operation that supplied water to workers at the building. Four firefighters helped with extinguishment and overhaul.

After arriving, eight members worked on the site for almost two and a half hours. Two members of the tanker crew stayed at the station and reacted to a car accident at Route 102 and Route 6 while the rest of the crew was committed.
