NORWICH, CT - Around 7:26 P.M. on Sunday, March 31st, the Taftville Fire Department with Norwich’s Engine 2 & Truck 1 were dispatched to 12 Fontaine Court for a possible house fire. Car 20 quickly arrived reporting smoke showing with an active fire in the basement. Engine 21 stretched a 1.75” hose to the 'Delta' side while Tower 25 cut the garage door. The crew was able to advance their line into the garage and extinguish the fire. Engine 2 laid in from a hydrant on Merchants Avenue which fed Engine 21. Following that, they stretched a 1.75” hose line through the front door and checked for extension. The Norwich Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
