Horse Rescued After Entanglement in Wire Fence on Jerome Street

Berkley, MA - On 22 March 2026 at approximately 12:45 a.m., Berkley Fire/Rescue responded to an incident on Jerome Street involving a horse that had become entangled in a wire fence. The situation caused the animal to fall and left it unable to stand on its own.


Given the complexity of the rescue, the Bristol County Technical Rescue Team was called in to provide specialized expertise and equipment. Through a coordinated and careful effort, responders successfully freed the horse and helped it back onto its feet.


The horse has since recovered and is now standing and walking. Officials expressed their appreciation to all agencies involved in the collaborative rescue effort.
