GENOA, NY - On the afternoon of March 30th at 2:56 P.M., Cayuga County 911 dispatched Genoa Rescue, King Ferry Fire Department, and Southern Cayuga Instant Aid, Inc. to a construction site on Indian Field Road following reports of a victim who had fallen from a roof.

Units including Genoa Car 2, Rescue 1, and Engine 2 responded to the scene. Given the severity of the incident, a medical helicopter from Mercy Flight Central was requested, and Genoa Engine 1 was assigned to establish a landing zone at the intersection of NY 34 and NY 90.

Upon arrival, crews quickly located the patient and assumed care. After evaluation and treatment, the decision was made to cancel the MedEvac, and Mercy Flight Central returned to service. Southern Cayuga Instant Aid, Inc. transported one patient to Upstate Medical Center for further care.

All Genoa units cleared the scene and returned to service in just over an hour.
