Mutual Aid Companies Assist at Chepachet Structure Fire

Chepachet, RI — March 5th — The Chepachet Fire Department dispatched firefighters to Old Quarry Road in response to a suspected building fire. Due to the magnitude of the situation, further resources were requested, and the initial personnel arrived and started suppression operations. To help with fireground operations, a number of mutual assistance departments responded. While other personnel supplemented the water supply and looked for an extension, engine companies attempted to contain the fire.


In order to guarantee sufficient personnel, equipment, and water supply during working fires, mutual help actions are typical in this region of northern Rhode Island. During the event, firefighters and equipment continued to operate along Old Quarry Road. While firefighters finished their work and made sure the fire was completely contained, officials warned drivers to exercise caution in the vicinity.
