Bristol Fire Department Responds to Roadside Brush Fire

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

On March 27th, about 15:48 p.m., the Bristol Fire Department responded to an exterior fire on Peaked Hill Road.

Crews arrived to find a 20-by-50-foot fire along the roadway. A tree fell on primary power lines, causing the fire. The end of the tree ignited and fell into the dry litter on the ground, starting the brush fire.

Firefighters were able to confine the fire before it spread to the surrounding region.

Residents were advised by department officials that, while the snow had recently melted and the ground appeared wet, surface fuels can still be extremely dry in early spring.
