Quick Response Contains Oven Fire in Wilkins Township Home

March 5, 2026 — Wilkins Township Volunteer Fire Company No. 3 was dispatched at approximately 7:00 p.m., just as members were beginning their monthly business meeting, for a reported possible structure fire in their first due area. Tower 303, Engine 303, and Squad 303 responded with a total of 15 members.
Upon arrival, 303 Assistant Chief established command and crews encountered a residence filled with smoke caused by an oven fire. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire using portable extinguishers, checked for extension, and ventilated the structure. The incident was contained to the oven with no additional damage to the home.
Mutual aid companies also responded to assist. Officials credited the rapid response and coordinated efforts for preventing the fire from spreading beyond the point of origin.
