Cicero, NY — March 4th — A carbon monoxide alarm was reported, and firefighters from the Cicero Fire Department, located at 8377 Brewerton Road, Cicero, NY, USA, 13039, responded. Crews were sent to look into the alarm and determine whether carbon monoxide was present in the building. Firefighters tested interior air conditions and identified potentially dangerous levels using portable gas monitoring meters.

Fuel-burning appliances including furnaces, water heaters, generators, and cars can emit carbon monoxide, an odorless and colorless gas. Fire departments handle these alarms as priority calls since they cannot be discovered without monitoring equipment. Before leaving the scene, firefighters examined the building and sought to locate any possible sources while making sure the area was secure for residents.
