Leesburg Chimney Fire Large Response

(3/28/10) Leesburg VA. The loudoun County Fire&Rescue toned out a large response for a Chimney Fire in a row of Townhouses.

Smoke and heat was extending into the attic of the townhouse, and fire officers fiered that it may be running the attic into the other homes. Leesburg CO1, Hamilton CO,5 Ashburn,Co22, &6 as well as Ashburn Tower 6, and Sterling Ladder,11.

Ladder 11 raised it stick on the A side so that the truck company could get to the roof an check for extention. Tower 6 went to the AB conner and stood by, Co.1 put two 1 3/4 lines in service. One at the front door. The other line was taken into the back yard.

After putting the chimney out no entention was found by yound the chimney. Two RIT teams were placed into service one on the back deck an the other in front. Station 13 stoodby for rehab. Units started to clear bout the 45 min. mark
