Rushville Residence Destroyed in Afternoon Fire

On March 21st, the Middlesex Hose Company responded to a mutual assistance call for a structure fire at 65 South Main Street in Rushville.


Firefighters arrived to find a completely involved residential structure and worked fast to confine the fire and keep it from spreading further. All people were able to depart before emergency officials arrived, and there were no injuries recorded. Despite the efforts of the responding workers, the structure was pronounced a complete loss.


The Rushville Fire Department, Potter Fire Department, Crystal Beach Fire Department, Benton Fire Department, Yates County Office of Emergency Management, Middlesex Ambulance, Yates County Fire Investigation Team, Yates County Sheriff's Office, and New York State Police were among the agencies that assisted on the scene.The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
