UTICA, NY — March 1st — Oneida County 911 received numerous reports of a major fire in the 1100 block of Howard Avenue, prompting the Utica Fire Department to react. Engine 7, Engine 3, Engine 1 (FAST), Rescue 2, Truck 2, and Car 4 responded to a first alarm assignment. Command discovered a food truck, a camper, and other burning cars in a parking lot when they arrived. While Truck 2 and Rescue 2 carried out a primary search of the camper, engine companies started suppression efforts.
One camper resident who was not aware of the fire was found by firefighters, who removed him securely and unharmed. In roughly twenty minutes, the fire was contained. While workers ran hose lines across the road, Utica Police helped with traffic management.
