Stamford Fire Handles Mutual Aid Dispatch and School Alarm Activation

February 17, 2026 — The Stamford Volunteer Fire Department responded to two calls for service on the morning of February 17. At 8:17 a.m., Stamford Fire was dispatched on mutual aid to Readsboro for a reported structure fire but was canceled enroute by the Readsboro Fire Department. Shortly after, at 8:47 a.m., crews were dispatched to the local school for a fire alarm activation, where firefighters investigated the alarm to ensure the safety of the building and its occupants before returning to service.
