Working House Fire in Frankfort Displaces Seven; One Dog Dies

FRANKFORT, NY - At 12:22 p.m. on March 25th, the Frankfort Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 4342 Acme Road in the Town of Frankfort.
Chief Matt Palumbo arrived and confirmed a working fire in a three-story, two-family home. He then sought mutual aid from the Ilion Fire Department, Frankfort Center Fire Department, Schuyler Fire Department, Mohawk Fire Department, Cedarville Fire Department, and Mohawk Valley Ambulance Corps.
Firefighters from Frankfort and Ilion launched an intensive interior attack, putting out the main body of fire while additional teams investigated for extension throughout the structure.
There were no injuries reported. One dog died in the fire, but another was saved by emergency workers. Seven people were displaced and are receiving help from the American Red Cross.The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
