Smoking Outlet Prompts Early Morning Fire Call

On March 17, at 3:53 a.m., the Berkshire Volunteer Fire Department responded to a probable structure fire on Steele Avenue Extension. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered a smoldering electrical outlet inside the home. Crews secured the outlet and ventilated the house to remove smoke. After determining that there was no additional threat, units cleared the location and returned to service.
