Attleboro, MA -On March 17, the Attleboro Fire Department responded to a report of a tree that had fallen into a residence on Thacher Street. Upon arrival, crews discovered that a large tree had collapsed onto the front of the home, causing significant structural damage.

Three residents, along with their pets, were able to evacuate safely on their own prior to the arrival of emergency services, and no injuries were reported. National Grid was requested to respond to the scene to shut off power to the affected home, though their response was delayed due to widespread storm-related damage across the region.

District Chief Gerry Brogan noted that heavy rainfall can saturate the ground, increasing the likelihood of trees becoming unstable, with high winds further elevating the risk. He added that, in this instance, no additional hazards were present and no injuries occurred.

Fire crews remained on site until the power to the residence was successfully disconnected. No injuries were reported among residents or firefighters.
