Lanesborough, MA - A coordinated response involving multiple community partners successfully brought a stranded animal to safety after it slipped into a ditch beside a barn and was unable to climb out on its own.

The operation included collaboration between Lanesborough EMS, Animal Control, Sayers Auto Wrecking, and farm animal specialists Anne from Brookside Farm and Becky from R&R Wirtes Farm. Working together with the Fire Department, the team carefully lifted the animal out of the ditch and ensured it was safely returned to its feet.

Following the rescue, the animal received a prompt veterinary checkup and was found to be in good condition, appearing ready to resume normal activity.

Officials noted that prior large animal rescue training conducted by the Fire Department last year played a crucial role in the success of the operation, enabling responders to act efficiently and safely in a challenging situation.

The combined efforts of all involved were credited with ensuring a positive outcome.
