Structure Fire on Route 11 Draws Mutual Aid Response in Cortlandville

Homer, NY - On March 24, 2026, at approximately 02:51, the Cortlandville Fire Department requested mutual aid to 4373 Route 11 following reports of a fully involved structure fire. Unit 501 responded and secured a hydrant located behind C.A.R.S Auto Repair. Crews deployed a deck gun along with multiple attack lines to combat the blaze.


Fire Police units were also requested and assisted in closing Route 11 at the Interstate 81 on-ramp to ensure safety and allow emergency operations to proceed without obstruction.


No injuries were reported as a result of the incident. However, the structure and more than a dozen vehicles sustained extensive damage and are considered a total loss. All Homer units had completed their operations and cleared the scene by 07:52.
