Firefighters Handle Wires Down After Farmingdale Crash

SOUTH FARMINGDALE, NY — March 11th — A car accident on Main Street close to Carmen's Road prompted the South Farmingdale Fire Department, located at 819 S. Main St., South Farmingdale, NY, United States, 11735. When firefighters and paramedics arrived, they discovered that one car had collided with a utility pole, cutting it at the base. Electrical cables fell over Main Street as a result of the accident, endangering drivers.


While they waited for utility technicians to arrive, crews secured the area and managed traffic. The Long Island Power Authority and the Nassau County Police Department were asked to help with the damaged pole and downed lines. Main Street between Paula Drive and Carmen's Road was closed until the area was secured, and a traffic advisory was issued.
