MERRICK, NY — March 15th — In order to support the Merrick Fire Department at a reported house fire, the Department North Merrick Fire Department, 2095 Camp Avenue, Merrick, NY, United States, 11566, was asked to supply a truck company on mutual aid. After arriving with a truck company, North Merrick firemen worked alongside Merrick units. As instructed by headquarters, members helped with truck company responsibilities, such as ventilation, ladder placement, and assisting interior operations.

In Nassau County, mutual aid actions are a standard component of fire service operations. In order to guarantee that sufficient personnel and equipment are available during working fires, departments collaborate on a regular basis. Before going back to their district and resuming their duties, North Merrick firefighters stayed on the spot until the situation was under control.
