HICKSVILLE, NY — March 16th — A working fire at 100 New South Road was reported to the Hicksville Fire Department, located at 20 E Marie St. in Hicksville, New York. Firefighters were notified by dispatchers following reports of smoke and fire coming from a nearby structure. When units arrived on the scene, they verified that there was an active fire and started suppressing it. While truck personnel helped with ventilation and extension tests, engine companies stretched handlines.

To make sure no people were still inside, firefighters also searched the building. During the response, local mutual help agencies were put on standby. Before putting the units back into service, crews stayed on the scene to finish overhaul procedures and make sure the fire was completely put out. There were no reported injuries.
