Norfolk Fire Department Responds to Crash and Water Leak Following Structure Fire

Norfolk, MA - On 27th February 2026 the Norfolk Fire Department responded to two additional significant incidents later in the same shift.


A serious head-on motor vehicle collision occurred on Pine Street, where one occupant had to be extricated using hydraulic spreaders. The individual was subsequently transported via Advanced Life Support to Boston Medical Center’s trauma unit. Norfolk Ambulance 1 was on scene and positioned at the ambulance bay.


In a separate incident, firefighters were dispatched to the local library following an alarm activation. Upon arrival, crews identified a malfunction in the building’s sprinkler system, which had caused a water leak. Firefighters quickly mitigated the issue, preventing further damage. Necessary repairs were completed, and the sprinkler system has since been fully restored.
