ELMONT, NY - The Elmont Fire Department responded to a reported house fire at 171 Sewanee Avenue on March 13th following complaints of smoke coming from a private residence. Shortly after the alarm went off, Chief 7010 arrived, confirmed that there was a fire on the second story, and requested a working fire dispatch. Engine and truck companies extended handlines and started internal operations while firefighters tried to prevent the fire from spreading to other parts of the house. Chief Segovia was in charge of the incident. There were no reported injuries.
