Quick Response Controls House Fire in Bayonne

BAYONNE, NJ - On March 21st at 1:34 P.M., the Bayonne Fire Department responded to a reported fire at 232 Prospect Avenue. Upon arrival, fire companies located a small fire on the second floor of the residence. Crews acted swiftly, deploying one handline to extinguish the flames. The fire was brought under control at 2:03 P.M. No injuries were reported. Officials have stated that the cause of the fire remains under investigation, but is not believed to be suspicious.


Fire Chief Keith Weaver commended the responding firefighters for their prompt and effective actions, which prevented the fire from spreading further within the home.


The department also acknowledged the support and coordination of the Bayonne Police Department, the City of Bayonne, the Bayonne Department of Public Works, Bayonne UEZ, and the Bayonne School District.
