Perth, NY — March 9th — On Stairs Road in the Town of Perth, a reported car collision with injuries prompted the Perth Volunteer Fire Company to react. Following the receipt of an accident detection alert from a mobile device—a technology intended to automatically alert emergency services following a potential collision—the call was placed. The Fulton County Sheriff's Department and Lake Valley Ambulance were also sent to help with the reaction.

In order to find the reported crash and look for any injured individuals, firefighters and deputies combed the area. Sometimes crash detection alarms go off without an actual collision, but responders still look into it to make sure everyone is safe. Crews reported that no accidents were found and went back to work after inspecting the road and its surroundings.
