Potsdam Units Stretch Lines at Parishville Fire Scene

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Firefighters from the Potsdam Fire Department responded on mutual aid to assist the Parishville Fire and Rescue at a reported structure fire at approximately 3:40 p.m. on March 20.

Dispatch confirmed a working fire immediately after the initial call, prompting other agencies to respond. The Potsdam TA-100 arrived first and stretched several handlines as workers conducted a 360-degree size-up to confirm fire throughout the abandoned property.

Because of the structure's state and age, firefighters used defensive tactics to safeguard neighboring exposures and decrease crew risk. Potsdam Truck 5 was stationed at the A-D corner to apply water from above.

The Hannawa Falls Fire Department, Colton Fire Department, Pierrepont Fire Department, Hopkinton-Fort Jackson Fire Department, and West Stockholm Fire Department all contributed mutual aid and supplied station coverage.
