RAYMERTOWN, NY - On March 4th, the Raymertown Fire Company came together for their 75th Annual Banquet and Awards dinner at the Pittstown Volunteer Ambulance Corp banquet hall. Every year, awards are given out to several members of the department for their hard work and dedication, but this year the chiefs added a special award.
Firefighters face challenges every day while doing their job to keep the public safe, so keeping the morale in the fire service is a major thing and one young individual managed to capture the attention of an entire department and bring them together. In front of a crowd made up of 80 firefighters, family members, other department chiefs and local leaders, Chief Robert Beebe of the Raymertown Fire Co. told the crowd, “This person has the uncanny ability to bring a smile and usually a chuckle out of every member he comes into contact with when he is at the station. That is not all he has done, he also rolls hose, checks the tightness of the lugs on the hose, and the air pressure of our vehicles, and just generally elevates the mood of everyone in immediate proximity. For his unwavering service to the morale of the members of the Raymertown Fire Co., I would like to present Lucas Bulson with the Future Firefighter Award.” Lucas was presented with a small plaque for his achievement award.
At only 6-years-old, Lucas has a true passion for the fire service and wants to be a firefighter when he gets older. Lucas' family is extremely proud of him and felt honored to have him receive this award from the Raymertown Fire Co. The Raymertown Fire Co. takes great pride in the fact that they are a family-friendly atmosphere department, and love to pass on traditions of the fire service to up-and-coming members.
