CONSTABLEVILLE, NY — February 17th — Following an explosion at Abundant Life Church along New York State Route 12 in Boonville, New York, the Constableville Volunteer Fire Company came on mutual aid to support the Boonville Fire Department. An explosion happened when Boonville firefighters were inside the structure looking into a reported smell. Despite their injuries, the church pastor and a number of firefighters were able to leave the building and get medical attention.
Support activities were responded to by mutual aid departments from all across the region. One of the riskiest situations that firemen deal with while serving their communities is incidents with potential gas odors.
