This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

CASTORLAND, NY — February 23rd — In response to a structure fire on Humphrey Road in the Town of Harrisburg, the Castorland Fire Company provided mutual help to the Lowville Fire Department. Since several members had already arrived at the station, Engine/Tanker 1 reacted promptly. Soon after, other units were added, including Engine 2, Tanker 2, Rescue, and Utility. While Engine 2 staged and firefighters helped with suppression efforts, tanker teams started moving water to support fireground operations as soon as they arrived.

In Lewis County's rural sections, where hydrants may be few, water shuttle operations are frequently utilized. Castorland units were released by Lowville command when the fire was contained. Every piece of equipment was removed from the scene and put back into operation.
